Petal Cake Stand

The Petal Cake Stand was developed with Graham Thompson for his Wedding Day. The design evolved over several weeks parallel to the evolution of the wedding planning, Graham and Sarah decided to have 3 different cakes, each with its own dedicated area. The different levels gave a hierarchy to the presentation.

Once the form was finalised, each layer, much like the different tiers on a traditional wedding cake, were cut from layers of birch ply-wood and mechanically fixed together.

The final form resembles an open tulip with its 3 petals holding the 3 wedding cakes.
