LFA Pavilion

Developed as a competition proposal for the London Festival of Architecture, the design for this project was centered around street furniture and views out to the city. An ambitious theme that attempted to create a piece of street furniture that would give the users a different perspective of the city by framing views in different resting positions. From seating, standing, and lying down.

The form of the pavilion was developed with Centraal Staal, a ship building fabricator, using their expertise and specialist digital steel fabrication methods, we were able to experiment with surfaces and finishes and create a monocoque structure.

The final design was a smooth, reflective, dynamic sculptural piece of street furniture that offered a place to relax and enjoy the surrounding environment while also being able to enjoy the reflectiveness of the environment on the reflective steel skin.
