The atrium house is a proposal that aims to offer an alternative to the conventional extension projects of the typical Victorian detached house.

The extension to the rear increases the area of the house but it also creates deep floor plates. By providing an open atrium at the entrance of the house every floor gets the benefit of natural light and ventilation.

Covered by a skylight, the space of the atrium brings all the floors together. The vertical space can be adapted to be used as a reception space, a playground, a winter garden, a library and more
